Nowadays, variety chemical fibres are produced to be cotton?s alternative. Because of their molecular structure, regenerated cellulosic fibres are similar to cotton more than others. Viscose is one of the most important fibre types, because of its high production and consumption quantities. At the same time, this fibre has low wet strength. This situation had caused to improve modal fibre that has higher wet strength than viscose. Then, production of lyocell fibre that include harmless solvent (NMMO) to the environment in the production process, has been started. Also, because of lyocell fibre?s high fibrillation properties, new type of lyocell fibres has been improved. Now, a lot of researches are made to find out if the fibres can be alternative to cotton.In this study, after some relaxation process, changes of physical and dimensional properties of single jersey knitted fabrics produced from some cellulosic regenerated fibres have been analysed. Then, in terms of those properties, all fabrics had been compared with each other and cotton fabrics that have same structures. For this purpose, single jersey fabrics had prepared from lyocell (tencel), lyocell lf, modal and cotton had been knitted in a circular knitting machine in tight, medium and loose tightness levels. Those fabrics were experimented under dry, wet relaxation and three times washing. Then, thickness, air permeability, dimensional stability, course, wale and stitch density of fabrics were tested and test results were evaluated.
