Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine effect of different soil nitrogen application doses together with foliar urea application time on cotton yield and quality parameters. Within this scope, in the trial carried out in Aydın province, main plots were constituted from different nitrogen doses (0, 7.5 an 15 kg N/da, half in sowing time and the rest in vegetation period) as sub-plots were foliar urea application times (control, squaring, before flowering and before ball formation at 15 days intervals). Nitrogen application to soil had a positive effect on plant height, ball weight, seed cotton yield, ginning turnout, uniformity leaf phosphorus and potassium content and had a negatif effect on spining consistency index and fiber micronaire was determined. Foliar nitrogen applications at different periods were found statistically important in plant height, leaf nitrogen content, ginning turnout and fiber micronaire. According to the results, it was concluded that soil nitrogen applications had more effect than foliar nitrogen applications and that foliar nitrogen applications in different periods did not make significant difference at different periods.Additionally, %5 (w/v) foliar urea applications to leaves were not resulted in phytotoxicity symptoms.
