Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between the anxiety and post-traumatic stress symptoms of musicians and their psychological resilience and personality characteristics of the Covid – 19 pandemic, which has affected the world in a short time and caused individuals to develop various psychopathologies. For this purpose, the anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress symptoms and psychological resilience of musicians will be measured and the sub-dimensions of personality traits will be determined. In addition, according to the age, gender and educational status of the participants, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and psychological resilience levels will be examined according to whether there is a differentiation. The design of this research involves a quantitative approach. The model of the research, which has a correlational (relational) pattern among quantitative research types, is cross-sectional. The population of the study consists of professional musicians in Turkey and the sample is 262 professional musicians between the ages of 20 and 65 determined by the appropriate sampling method. For the study, Demographic Information Form including questions about individuals' lives before and after the Covid – 19 pandemic, Beck Anxiety Scale, Beck Depression Scale, Epidemic Disease Anxiety Scale, Five Factor Personality Inventory, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for DSM-5 and Psychological Resilience Scale for Adults were used. In the research, the relationship between the variables was examined and the relationship with personality traits was determined. A significant negative relationship was found between anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder symptom levels and psychological resilience levels and neuroticism sub-dimension of personality traits; It has been observed that young musicians have higher levels of psychological resilience and lower symptoms of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder than musicians in middle age. With the data obtained, it was discussed within the framework of the literature and suggestions for future research were presented.
