Association of CRP, IL6, IL10 levels and CRP polymorphism in pancreas cancer patients

Pancreas cancer is the most common mortality incidence of all cancer types, border information about mechanisms of cancer progression and inflammation. Aim of this study is to determine relation between pancreas cancer and inflammation. C-reactive protein (CRP) is one of the important inflammation markers which our studied polymorphism of CRP at pancreas cancer. We conducted this study with Oncology Hospital of Gaziantep University, measuring blood levels of CRP, interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin 10 (IL-10) in 50 pancreas cancer cases and 50 matched controls. CRP blood levels were assessed by nephelometrically and IL-6, IL-10 levels with chemiluminescence method. DNA was extracted from blood samples, and the CRP 1846 C>T and 5922 T>A genetic polymorphisms were investigated by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism and 1059 G>C region was studied by Real-time - Polymerase chain reaction. Serum CRP,IL-10 and IL-6 levels were significantly in patients higher than control group. The 1846 C/T polymorphism was detected significantly different between patients and control groups. The 5922 T/A polymorphism in the 3' UTR region was significantly different between two groups. 1059 G\C region of CRP gene polymorphism was not to found different between two groups. These data suggest that 1846 C/T and 5922 T/A polymorphisms of CRP gene were associated with pathogenesis of pancreas cancer. Key words: CRP, Pancreas cancer, Polymorphism.
