Fransa'daki Türk diasporasında siyasal katılım ve dernekler: Paris ve Strasbourg örneği

European countries have defined a number of policies to eliminate the destructive effects they faced after the Second World War. To rebuild their country, they decided to meet their labor needs by recruiting workers from different countries. France is one of these countries. Turkey started sending workers to France under bilateral agreements signed in the 1960s. When the Turks, who left under the status of guest workers, realized that they could not return to their country after a while, they started to organize certain activities in the countries where they live. In this context, activities concerning the diaspora of the Turks in France have emerged as a result of certain developments. The Turks in France firstly acquired property and began to establish associations. They have taken steps to preserve their cultural values through the associations and NGOs they have created. Today, many countries are discussing the political participation and diasporic activities of immigrants in the context of transnational identities. In this study, the data obtained from the field research carried out in Paris and Strasbourg aims to clarify issues such as the reasons for the migration of Turks in France, the process of transition to the diaspora after migration and diasporic activities, political participation and Turkish associations.
