Abstract (EN)
The biggest problem with stainless steels in the time we are in is distortions. Stainless steel has the highest thermal expansion coefficient. The regional heat rise caused by the welding, creates what is called distortion. If the distortion is not removed during the welding, this will cause a great deal of wasted time, and cause labour cost to increase. This project has defined the specialties of stainless steels, the operating of welding, and has investigated how to decrease the distortion during the welding. It is investigated the results of distortions while stainless steel sheets is welded in different gap angels and parameters During the operation of welding, the correctly selected parameters will decrease the distortion. Besides, the transient thermal tensioning method and double sided welding will decrease the distortion to the lowest level, and may dismiss it altogether. It provides the advantage about cost and time management. Keywords: Stainless steel, welding, welding methods, distortion.
