Analysis of value creating process on stakeholder interaction basis for sustainable ground handling mission at airports and a research in Kayseri airport

The purpose of this research is to assess stakeholder interactive value creation process's contribution to the sustainable ground handling mission by proposing a framework to improve airport ground handling management. By identifying the activities and stakeholders of the ground handling mission, a value chain approach has been put forward for effective coordination of activities among stakeholders to reduce flight delays and operating costs to develop sustainable aviation. Literature review has shown that no academic research has been done about this topic. First, the stakeholders of airport ground handling operations and the value chain of ground handling services are introduced. Subsequently, using the interview form developed via literature review and interviews with working groups, were made with 20 executive level participants at Kayseri Airport HAVAŞ Ground Service Station. The participants were asked about the activities they carried out in the business, their stakeholders, how they interacted, and how these interactions contributed to value creation of sustainable ground services mission. As a result of the research, the stakeholders involved in the ground handling mission are presented in a holistic manner and the creation of value through a detailed understanding of the aviation ground handling value chain has been examined. The theoretical framework of this study advocates the approach that the value chain for the ground handling sector cannot achieve sustainable missions without stakeholder engagement for this reason it integrates stakeholders into the sustainable value chain of ground handling operations.
