Social memory is an area that governments can easily intervene and keep under control. Social memory takes shape according to the cultural, political and ideological discourse of the day. Social memory has a structure that can be rebuilt with some reminders and forgetting. Those in power, who play an important role in this construction process, use mass media effectively during the construction process. The ability of mass media to influence and direct societies has become a tool used by governments to spread their own ideologies to society. Mass media are also tools used to bring people from different places together on a common ground and to spread ideologies. Through mass media, the past has become reconstructable and changeable. Television is one of the mass media that has an important place in the adoption and transfer of an ideology, idea or thought to society. Television is one of the most basic tools through which individuals of all ages learn history. Television broadcasts have the power to touch the lives of individuals from all walks of life. So much so that historical series broadcast on television help to form and change the audience's perception of both historical figures and events and facts. In this respect, it contributes to the reconstruction of social memory through historical series. The aim of this study is to determine how the Payitaht Abdulhamid series is used in the reconstruction of social memory. A case study, one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the research. Data were collected by document review. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. Codes, sub-themes and themes were created in line with the sub-problems of the study. As a result of the study, II. It has been determined that there are positive and negative narratives about Abdulhamid, as well as narratives about others. It can be said that the negative narratives about Abdulhamid actually support the positive narratives. While there are both positive and negative narratives about Abdulhamid in academic historiography, it has been concluded that in this series, the image of Abdulhamid in social memory was reconstructed through positive narratives, where the negative narratives were almost ignored.
