Abstract (EN)

Since the Industrial Revolution, many technological and industrial developments have occurred. The increase of population, unplanned urbanization, unconscious use of natural resources, and wastes resulting from industrial activities have caused minor environmental problems at first and afterwards a global impact, leading to pour of the ozone layer. The fact that environmental problems cause irreversible damage has revealed that the whole world ought to take some responsibilities on sustainability. Businesses in order to supply sustainable production aim to keep the use of natural resources and energy at minimum at every stage from product design to recycling. As a result of the effective use of social media tools and consciousness about sustainability with the development of technology, new sharing-oriented business models have emerged. Individuals and producers prefer the sharing economy owing to environmental problems caused by excessive consumption, economic concerns and changing consumption mentality. It is possible to come upon in all areas of life including training, accommodation, means of transportation, clothing, tourism. Social media platforms, which bring together service providers and consumers in order to share their talents, knowledge and skills in many fields, have a key role in the development of the sharing economy. Today, the increase in producers who carry out commercial activities through sharing platforms increases the interest in this field. In this study; a theoretical evaluation was made on the relationship between sustainable production and sharing economy by making a review based on the literature. Business models in the context of the sharing economy are evaluated from the perspective of sustainable production, and a conceptual framework is presented for their economic, environmental and social effects.
