Abstract (EN)

With the first settlement of humans, their interventions in the natural environment were shaped more in line with basic needs such as food supply, shelter needs and finding pasture for their animals, and there was not much of an expansionist order. However, technological developments, especially after the Industrial Revolution, rapid population growth and increasing needs have led people to intervene more in nature and use natural resources on a larger scale and in line with their needs. As a result of the activities carried out by humans to change nature and shape it in line with their own needs, the concept of "Anthropocene" emerged as a third period in the Quaternary. This period covers approximately the last 200-300 years. The concept of Anthropocene is used as "Human Time" in the literature and includes the period in which humans continue to shape nature and the period we are still in. Turkey, with its thousands of years of settlement history, is among the important countries where this process is experienced due to human impact. The anthropogenic impacts, which can be started with the Neolithic Period, which is accepted as the transition to settled agricultural life in the country, have gained momentum especially with the rapidly increasing population and intensified industrial activities since the 1950s. There are some methods used to reveal the effects of these anthropogenic activities both in the world and in Turkey on the natural environment and their consequences, and to develop solutions. In this study, the NIR method developed to determine the anthropogenic impact was supported by remote sensing, GIS techniques and field studies to reveal the rate of anthropogenic impact in Pazarsuyu Basin. The intensification of human pressure in the Pazarsuyu Basin, especially in recent years, has been effective in the selection of this area as the study area. In the light of the data obtained from this study, which was prepared as a master's thesis, it was determined that anthropogenic degradation due to different reasons is more intense in the middle and lower reaches of the Pazarsuyu Basin. However, it was determined that the anthropogeomorphologic impact in the basin poses a limited danger in the lower reach, while it cannot be ignored and should be controlled in the middle-upper reach.
