Abstract (EN)
Energy consumption rises with the developing technology, growing population and increasing welfare. A solution to this increasing energy demand maybe PEM fuel cell technology. This technology has advantages such as more efficient and renewable over the traditional energy conversion systems but high platinum amount used at the cathode and anode of a fuel cell is an obstacle to its wider use. To reduce the amount of platinum, various carbon support materials were investigated. In this work we investigated a modified graphite as carbon support material which gives great responses to monovalent and divalent ions when used as ion-selective materials. Platinum precursors are reduced on carbon support materials with different techniques. To investigate the performance of the material, electrochemical analysis was performed. Also, surface properties were investigated with SEM, BET and BJH analysis.
