Abstract (EN)
In this dissertation study, Levantine housing heritage being part of cultural and architectural richness in Pera region where Western reflections have first been felt in urban sense were examined in the scope of adaptive reuse. After making literature reviews about the region and performing field study, analyses have been carried out in accordance with the predetermined methodology on four adaptively reused Levantine houses and evaluations on scale and depth of intervention to structures are made. In the scope of this assessment, positive and negative impacts of the concept of adaptive reuse to historical structures are mentioned, deductions of required interventions for reducing the negative impacts are made and suggestions are tried to be made for many structures to be transformed in the context of points to take into consideration in adaptive reuse.
