Abstract (EN)

Performance assessment is one of the most important instruments for the modern human resources management. Performance assessment is becoming more and more essential for organizations in recent global competitive conditions. It can be said that performance assessment is crucial not only for the organizations, but also for the employees. The results and outputs of the performance assessment, a quite comprehensive process, can be used in various managerial decisions. Using performance assessment results in wage system generates the most significant phase of performance assessment management. Performance-based wage system can increase the organization productivity as well as the employee motivation. Both the performance assessment and performance-based wage system are getting more and more interest from organizations in both industry and service sectors. It is seen that in recent years, the organizations in these two sectors have had an increasing interest in performance assessment and performance-based wage system in Turkey as well. Within this framework, the aim of this study is to examine the practice of performance-based pricing system in Turkish banking sector. To this end, performance assessment and performance-based wage system are examined thoroughly and then the practice of performance-based wage system in Turkish banking sector is analyzed and within this scope, the practice of three banks is examined in great detail in this study.
