Özet (EN)

ABSTRACT Depending on the information that atherasclerosis is a chronic inflammatory process with its relationship with peripheral artery disease, pentraxin which is an inflammatory marker, is expected to increase in peripheral artery disease. This study was performed prospectively in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Farabi Faculty of Medicine. The purpose of this study is to determine the place of PTX3 substance in the diagnosis of peripheral arterial disease. This study was conducted with a group of 43 patients who are older than 18 with symptoms and diagnosed as peripheral arterial disease. Within the control group, while PTX-3 median is 1,027 (25-75 percentile: 0,395- 2,902), it is identified as 0,585 (25-75 perccentile: 0,406-5,467) with PAD patients ( p: 0,913). When PTX-3 is compared with ABI values, a weak and meaningless correlation was determined (rho: 0,016 p: 0,886). Whenthe correaltion of PTX-3 values were examined with other parameters ( age, systolic, diastolic TA, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature and spO2) no significant correlation was found with any of the other parameters. These findings state that pentraxin 3 level in patients with peripheral artery disease, which is a chronic process, cannot be revealed as an indicator.
