Abstract (EN)
The Turkish Adaptation Of The Perroca Patient Classification Scale: A Reliability And Validity Study To determine patient classification scale reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the "Perroca Patient Classification Scale" developed by Perroca. This methodological study was conducted in one private hospital in one province in the Marmara Region, between October and November, 2015. Sampling, about a hospital's intensive care and medical-surgical ward of 300 patients hospitalized for at least 24 hours were construct validity and internal consistency. Thirtytwo patients were included in the sample for inter-rater reliability test. Socio-demographic form and Perroca Patient Classification Scale were used for data collection tool. The validity of the nine items scale is language and content validity provided by the opinion of 10 experts. Turkish version of the scale, Pearson correlation, Cronbach's alpha (internal consistency), independent samples t-test (independent t test), kappa analysis (interobserver reliability) and exploratory factor analysis (construct validity), was analyzed. Perroca Patient Classification Scale content validity index was found of .93. Scale of Cronbach's alpha coefficient of .86 and the item - total correlations were determined to be between .11 and .90. Exploratory factor analysis determined that the scale is divided into two subscales. Investigation and monitoring, personal hygiene and eliminations, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, locomotion or activity, therapeutics and emotional support are matter (substance 7) "short-term planning" has been called. Care process planning and coordination, health education are matter (substance 2) "long-term planning" has been called. In terms of interobserver reliability of the independent samples t test it showed no statistically significant difference; among the observers to be perfectly matched to the kappa statistics (.82) it was determined. In this study, the Perroca Patient Classification Scale was determined to be a valid and reliable scale. This scale could be used to determine the nursing workload and nurse manpower planning in nursing research and management practices.
