Abstract (EN)

Social and economical developments such as evolving and changing management styles, technological advances and developments, increase in customer expectations and awareness has brought the natural consequence of the transition from industrial society to information society. Over the time this change has increased the importance of employees for the organizations, and as a result the success of employees has become the success of the organizations. For this reason, the continuing success of high-performance organizations can be sustained with employees who are talented and able entrepreneurs with high performance and who can quickly adapt to new developments.Since the early 1990s, ?Empowerment? has occupied a central place in business management. Empowerment has been a new management technique which provides competition advantage to organizations over the last decade. Empowerment, which has been brought on by global change and competition, has been described as a personal means phenomenon to enable employees to make decisions and take responsibility for their own actions.Today?s competitive business environment has a compelling structure which necessitates employees to reveal faster, cheaper and preferred solutions. Stress is a fact too often experienced within this high pressure environment. Burnout is often seen in employees who suffer and cannot cope with this stress. In this context, the problem subject of this master?s thesis study is determining the effect of employee empowerment on burnout syndrome.Key Words: Empowerment, Employee Empowerment, Burnout,Burnout Syndrome
