ABSTRACTTranslation is a fact as important as the language and by no means a necessityin every field either in the past or today. Translator who undertakes this piece ofwork, will be confronted with diffuculties and these diffuculties will be defeated byaddind or omitting of words. In a translation process, the way followed by thetranslator, will display the translation comprehension of the translator.In this study, the source and target texts of German child litterature authorPeter Härtling?s ?Ben liebt Anna? and Christine Nöstlinger?s ?Lollipop? are analyzedcomparatively to determine artistic language, target language or source languagefocused translation methods, preferences and attitudes that the translator adopts.Introduction of this study contains a discussion on the translation fact, scopeof the litterature translation and in the light of contemporary translation theories, thetranslation critism comprehension is discussed. The second chapter mentions PeterHärtling?s ?Ben liebt Anna? and his anti authoriterian child litterature. The thirdchapter of the study focuses on Austrian author Christine Nöstlinger and her literarywork ?Lollipop?. The fourth chapter is a critical approach to Turkish translation of?Ben liebt Anna? and ?Lollipop? and the technics and methods of the translationprocess is displayed. The fifth chapter is the conclusion chapter and is an evaluationof the analyzed texts.
