Establishment of quality management system according to iso 9001:2008 in petroleum natural gas geothermal drilling field services industry

The purpose of establishing a quality management system in the drilling sector basically is to ensure customer satisfaction by rendering quality services. In Turkey, only one of the companies operating in that field completed its certification process in accordance with the system in question, however other companies do not yet have the certification in this regard. In this study, the quality management system operations of the company in concern which was formed in accordance with "ISO 9001 Quality Management System" standard's conditions are discussed in detail. Employing the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method, this study also outlines the positive outcomes and contributions of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System after it was in full function within the company. As per the TOPSIS Method results, significant improvements regarding the company performance were achieved after the ISO 9001 Quality Management System in 2014 in comparison to 2012, where the system had not been set up yet. The purpose of this thesis is to explain the companies operating in Petroleum, Natural Gas and Geothermal Drilling industry in Turkey how the system is entirely established and to provide them with a guideline document which they can benefit from.
