Abstract (EN)
Carpet art, known as a gift of Turks to the world cultural heritage, is one of the most important elements of our rich culture that we have created throughout history. It has a special importance in the world with its attractive colours, unique patterns, symbol language and ideas. Turkish carpet art, which inspired many painters and designers, was founded in BC. V.-IV. century began in Central Asia. Turkish carpet art XIII. century continued with the Anatolian Seljuks uninterrupted until today has reached. Even though the artifact created in Landscape architecture and the art of carpet seem quite different in terms of size and materials, they are inspired by each other. The motifs and patterns of the landscaped carpets, and the garden depictions in carpets are an example of this. Carpet patterns, which have been used in landscaping in recent years, show that the landscape is inspired by carpet art. In this study, the possible effects of the unique motifs and decorations of our traditional carpet art and the distinctive interpretations created by the Turkish women on the weaving were investigated. While using local and cultural values of our traditional art in landscape designs, it is aimed to give these cities an aesthetic quality and to transfer these values to future generations. In this context, Döşemealtı carpets of the Antalya region were taken as inspiration, and decorative designs, patterns and colours in the carpets were designed to add a traditional value to urban spaces. https://youtu.be/Jf_ZGqRxSjM you can access 3D Render demonstrations of the designs developed in this thesis.
