Pictograms, i̇deograms and the reflections to ceramic art

Communication has been existing growingly since the presence of the mankind up today. The communication story which has begun by simple lines and descriptions has become very easy by means of very high technologies today and has affected all parts of human life. The symbols had an important role in this story of communication. Before the discover of writing, the communication provided by means of these symbols and these symbols that reached from past to present have given us clues about their usage era. The symbols have not got out of our life with the discovery of writing. In contrary they have been the main tools to get life easier. These symbols which we encounter in the daily life pictograms and ideograms. These symbols which are for knowledge or warnings or expressing a notion, offer us an alternate usage through art apart from these expressions. The usage of these symbols has not been so widespread as a mean of expression in art area. In this context, the Thesis will asses the affect of pictogram and ideogram (of which main aim is direction, warning or describing a notion) on ceramic art through historical process and in uses of modern artists and also commentations have been made over works. The most important factor which provides the Thesis named '' Pictograms, Ideograms and The reflections to ceramic art'' has been authenticc is creating art objects that carry artistic values by using ceramic making techniques.
