Abstract (EN)

Cinema and architecture are the two branches of art that have the strongest communication with sociality in today's world. While architecture uses animation as the language of expression in the presentation phase, animation cinema uses architecture as the language of expression in the design phase. The interaction of these two branches has reached a different dimension with the increase in cinema and architecture course curricula, literature, and research. The rapid change of the cinema industry with technology has also provided the development of animation cinema. Animation cinema is a three-dimensional cartoon series that emphasizes the relationship between space and character. Within the scope of the study, the films produced by Pixar, the most imported company in the animation field of the cinema industry, will be examined. Since the company was founded in 1979 the company has produced many short and feature films. All movies will be listed and watched. Space definitions will be made, and their properties will be analyzed. The spaces observed in the films will be defined and detailed feature breakdowns will be made. Which types of spaces are used in Pixar animations and for what purpose? How have spatial narratives developed in films? Can generalizations be made in space types, perception, narrative, or visualization in a global sense? What are the recent types added to the literature that examine space and its categories? Can space narration be analyzed through Pixar Animation Films? Is there an example of a Pixar film where all types of spaces can be observed in a single movie?
