Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study, searching effect of different design parameters (plate chevron angles, fluid input and output locations, flow layouts) on plate heat exchanger thermal effectiveness, output fluids temperature and pressure drop. Appropriate mathematical models were developed for plate heat exchangers that have different parameter. Thermal effectiveness were calculated from each mathematical model. Fluid output data were found out from thermal analysis and analytical solution will be used for pressure drop calculations. Heat transfer equations, flow layout equations (laminar or turbulent) were solved with boundary conditions for mathematical models and pressure drops results compared with thermal fluent analysis. In this study, 30-45-60 degrees as the angle of the Chevron plate, diagonal-vertical fluid input and output as the location, parallel and reverse flow as the flow layout were examined. For searching effect of design parameters, 6 plate heat exchangers solid model were develop by Solidworks and 12 fluent model were developed by Ansys based on heat exchangers are using in industry. As a result of this research, comparison can be made between all models. Due to this comparison most suitable plate heat exchangers can be selected for different system. Thus, the number of prototypes that were produced can be decreased and waste of time will be prevented.
