Abstract (EN)
Graphic representation of the information dates back to the earliest period in the history of cartography and visual imagery. Improvements in printing and reproduction technologies, mathematical theory and practice, empirical observation and registering issues have made an expansion of the use of graphic, also enabled the recording of new advances in content and form. In the 19th century the rise of ideas and dissemination of statistical data collection on various topics are the factors that influenced the development of this process that can be described as the evolution of visualization. Visualization in a simple way is the information expressed as an image that associated with visual thinking and visual communication concepts. In order to analyze visual thinking it is necessary to understand how the human mind processes the visual knowledge. We run our visual perception skills; with spatial reasoning, pattern recognition and thinking within big pictures. Thus cognition and the necessity of representation and presentation to ensure the exercise of human visual perception skills and features are of great importance in visualization. Amplify cognition is about maximizing how efficiently and effectively we are able to process the information into thoughts, insights, and knowledge. Geographic visualization (geovisualization) has been a very important part of urban planning for a long time. Geographic visualization refers to processes, techniques and tools that support geospatial data analysis through the use of interactive visualization. Geovisualization integrates approaches from information visualization, cartography, image analysis and geographic information systems (GIS) to provide theory, methods, and tools for visual exploration, analysis, synthesis, and presentation of geospatial data, which refers to any data that with some kind of geo referencing. This referencing ranges from precise geographic coordinates, through street addresses, to codes for administrative or other types of regions, such as zip codes and drainage basin indices. The aim of this thesis is to define visualization and its techniques and discuss their importance in urban planning as an important communication tool. The concept of visualization, the evolution of the historical process, the development of disciplines on which it interacts with are examined. Visual expression techniques used in the historical process of planning are discussed in the framework of the changing paradigms of planning. The theory 'trialectic' thanks to which Lefebvre explains the production of place; sets the basis of the relationship between visualization and planning and the mutual influence they have on each other. This thesis ends with examples of graphic expression methods and of planning co-visualization works.
