Abstract (EN)

Objective: Our aim is to evaluate the outcomes of pregnancies after cesarean sectin due to abnormal placental localization. Method and Material: This study included patients who had a cesarean section between January 2010 and December 2015 in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Dicle University Medical Faculty and who were diagnosed with placenta previa by transvaginal ultrasonography. In the study, 178 patients were reached and the results of the pregnancies of the patients after placenta previa were evaluated. SPSS 22 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) package program was used for the analysis of the data. Results: In our clinic, it was found that 8427 births were made in total during the 6 years period, 1823 (21.6%) of these births were normal birth and 6604 (78.4%) were cesarean. Of the deliveries, 420 (5%) were found to be due to placenta previa. The age range of the patients was 18-50 and the mean age was 31.1 ± 5.77. 61 (34.3%) patients were found to be pregnant again after cesarean section. The recurrence rate of the patients in Group 1 was 40.4% (n: 40) and the rate of repeat pregnancy in Group 2 was 26.6% (n: 21). It was determined that 28 (75.7%) of the Group 1 pregnancies delivered as term and 9 (24.3%) delivered before term. 15 (88.2%) pregnancies in group 2 were delivered at term and 2 (11.8%) pregnancies were delivered before term. There were only 21 women (11.79%) who told that there was a change in the menstrual cycle. 9 of these women (42.85%) were in Group 1 and 12 (57.14%) were in Group 2. Conclusion: In our study, no significant difference was found in risk of abortion after uterus-preserving surgery, blood transfusion during or after cesarean section, prenatal admission to hospital and delivery time of subsequent pregnancy. Therefore, we think that sutures applied during the cesarean section have no harmful effects on the uterus. Keywords: Placenta previa, cesarean, pregnancy
