Abstract (EN)

In this study was studied on the optimization of energy consumption by calculation of cooling load for production of plastic parts, analysis of cooling systems that provide cooling load and the creation of the energy model taking into account the seasons.First of all, cooling systems used for cooling injection molds such as dry coolers, chillers and cooling towers have been analyzed in terms of energy consumption working principle. In addition, cooling load for production of plastic parts, cooling water temperature and flow for injection molds have been calculated and results were interpreted.Obtained information and equations about cooling load calculations and industrial cooling systems have been adapted for a plastic parts manufacturing plant being in Çayırova and still active.Design of cooling system and cooling equipments that is used in this plastic parts manufacturing plant in the current situation have been examined in detail and energy consumption of current cooling systems have been determined. Then energy modeling was carried out for winter and summer conditions for cooling system of injection molds.Energy savings were carried out by determining improvement opportunities for energy consumption of current cooling systems. Improvements in energy consumption and cost advantages provided by the new systems have been analyzed in line with optimization of energy consumption.
