Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to analyse historically various civilizations and their relationship with art and explain the relationship between art and politics with examples from diff erent cultures. Until today, humanity has an immense historical accumulation and maintain its existence by gaining new cultural understandings. Place of art under these historical and cultural accumulation has shaped by diff erent expectations coming from various civilizations and vary according to their features. Starting from prehistorical period, the place of art inside societies and its social impacts display various examples among cultural integrity that the societies try to build. Contribution of Sumarian Civilization on emergence of modern socities has been acknowledged by many historians. It is possible to read the interaction process of societies from one to another as a snowball such as from Sumerian to Egyptian, Egyptian to Greek and Roman, Roman to European Renaissance, French Revolution and fınally to present modern and postmodern civilisations. Expression styles ofthe art and which kind of expectations constract art pieces can be understand from historical examples. Art and politics can be addressed as seperate concepts. However, it is possible to see some examples under which these concepts have been used to support each other when they have been analyzed historically.
