Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the thesis is how the thought of death is formed by examining the studies in the field of plastic arts and how important this idea has in human life. According to the conclusion reached as a result of the researches, humanity has been deeply interested in the issue of death, and this issue has always occupied its thoughts as the most fundamental problem. It has been examined how they put this problem, which is the most desirable and uncertainty in their lives, to the extent that they can imagine themselves, and why people fear the thought of death. As a result of these examinations, it was seen how the attitudes taken by the persons in face of an uncertainty that they did not know and could not fully understand were put into form and how much they forced their dreams. It is clearly seen in these works how people take a stand against the fear of emptiness and uncertainty. In addition to perceiving death as an emptiness and uncertainty, the idea of likening it to the concrete world they knows is also clearly seen in these works. For this reason, artworks are a reflection of society and are the first areas to be consulted to understand the language of society. In order to understand the society better, it is necessary to examine the artworks of that society first. In conclusion, the phenomenon of death is an idea that societies cannot understand enough and always escape, and this idea is very closely related to the shaping of humanity. It is the thought that humanity most fears and runs away from. It seems possible to see this closely with the infectious disease problem experienced recently.
