Unity of life as the aim of Plato's understanding of virtue

The culture in which man lives has its own evolutionary dynamics. The cultural world, which has changed and altered in accordance with these dynamics, has brought new moral problems to humanity in every period. All of these moral problems are related to human life and create conditions that require people to re-meaning their lives. Our age is on the verge of some existing and possible existential crises. Humanity has faced various existential crises over the ages and thinkers have developed various theories in order to overcome these crises. In order to overcome a hypothetical existential crisis, an understanding called the unity of life is designed. This project is basically about self-conscious questioning of some negative factors affecting people's life and living their lives in their individual originality by knowing themselves. One of the alternatives that understanding will offer to the individual is a life based on virtue. The problem of virtue is especially dominant in ancient philosophies. Along with human philosophy, the concept of virtue emerged as an element in the world of thought and was discussed by all moral thinkers of the age. One of the most productive of these discussions is Plato's understanding of virtue. Plato, by constructing a virtuous human model on the basis of wisdom, offered an alternative to the period of existential crisis in which he lived. In this respect, Plato, the period in which he lived, and the other thinkers with whom he interacted will be evaluated in line with the view of a virtue-based human model, as an example of grounding the understanding of unity of life.
