ABSTRACTMaster ThesisOPTIMAL CONTROL OF HVAC SYSTEMS USED THE PLCEkrem YILDIZFırat UniversityDepartment of Mechanical Engineering2006, Page : 73In this study, the modeling, simulation and control of a variable-air flow rate HVAC (Heating,Ventilations and Air Conditions) system have been presented. There are two zones, coolerunit, fan, dampers and thermocouples in this model. MATLAB / SIMULINK Program hasbeen used for simulation of the system. The block diagrams of each unit have beenconnected to each other. The simulation results have been presented in graphical form. Inorder to control the system for obtaining the desired temperatures, the damper gap has beenfound for each time step. In addition, the experimental set up has been designed. Finally, theexperimental and theoretical results have been compared by using the obtained graphics.Key Words: HVAC System, Control, Simulation
