Abstract (EN)

In this thesis; TiO2-PEI-GA material was synthesized by reflux method by adding polyethylene imine and glutaraldehyde to the medium at the TiO2 synthesis process. "Bifunctional" material synthesis was aimed for the adsorption of anionic Cr6+, namely CrO42- ions in wastewater and photocatalytic degradation of tannic acid. In addition, the synthesized bifunctional material was used as an adsorbent in order to separate and concentrate low concentration Cr6+ ions in different matrix environments by solid phase extraction (SPE). The synthesized material was characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM-EDX, BET, TGA, DLS, Zeta potential measurements. The batch method was used to determine the optimum experimental conditions. In this context solution pH, adsorbent amount, adsorption time, ambient temperature, initial concentration, solution volume, the effect of organic and inorganic impurities as well as selectivity factor were studied. The maximum adsorption capacity of Cr6+ at pH 3 in solution medium in 45 minutes was determined to be 156.0 mgg-1. For photocatalytic studies, tannic acid, reagent black 5, rhodamine B and methylene blue solutions were used. It was observed that TiO2-PEI-GA almost completely broken down tannic acid and dyestuffs subjected to 4 hours of irradiation under visible light. As a result, the antimicrobial effect of the material with antifungal propertion were eluciated.
