Abstract (EN)
The colloidal polymeric particles are extensive in many different research areas. But in recent years, apart from the global cholloids, another major development is on Janus particles. Janus is the ancient Roman god with two faces facing different directions. Therefore, particles with two different chemical/physical regions are called Janus particles. The first Janus-like structures were reported in 1985by Lee et all. Casagrande used the term "Janus paticles" in 1988 to describe spherical particles containing hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups. In this study, polystyrene/ter-butyl acrylate particles were synthesized by one-pot emulsion polymerization. The effects on the morphology of nanoparticles were investigated by using different surfactants during the synthesis of the particles. As a result, it has been observed that the Janus morphology can be controlled by the type of surfactant.
