Abstract (EN)

Throughout history, police departments have tried and utilized various technological advancements in an effort to improve their ability to fight crime and the criminals. Among those technological advancements, the last and most approved one is the aircraft. The use of aviation in policing began in the begining of the 20. century. But after half of the mentioned century, the aircrafts have played rol in law enforcement more active and efficent.Of course to gain maximum benefit from restricted resources is important every time. Therefore, it was argued if the money that spent for police aviation is worthwile or not. In some regions most of the people didn?t belive the benefits of the police aviation activities. But consequently reality was recognized and now thousands of police helicopters are used throughout the world for law enforcement duties.In this study, some other studies which made in other countries about the cost-benefit analysis of the police aviation are examined and a summary prepared about police aviation in our contry. The real purpose of the study is to show the way about an extensive scientific study for our country which could be made in the future.So, this study included two parts. In the first part, some information have given about the public spendings, the history of the police aviaiton and also helicopters. The second part is included the meaning of cost-benefit analysis, the studies that made abroad about the cost-benefit analysis of the police aviation, a summary about the police aviation in our country and some news from abroad and domestic media about police aviation.
