Abstract (EN)
Nowadays tourism is playing an important role in the world economy. Inspite of a standstill at the most of the industries, tourism industry is a thruster power for other industries also. Despite that tourism has a sensitive and a fragile structure to the crisis such as wars, terror, robbery, social and political crisis. When political instabilities occurs in the destinations which attracts tourists, it effects tourism industry significantly. While visiting a destination existing risky situations or perception of risk, will effect personal security perceptions which are the fundamental need of human being and in this case tourists decisions will be effected depending on the conditions. As a result of these effects tourists can show variety react to heading towards alternative destination to cancelation of the trip.Limited international studies about the effects of political instabilities on the tourists destination choice and especially in Türkiye, effects of political instabilities on tourists destination choice studies are not conducted before, this research is very important. To bringing up the aim of this research and constitute of the questionnaire form detailed technical literature scanning was carried out. After reliability test, datas obtained from 770 participant who picked coincidence from the universe of the study between 23 January 2012 and 5 February 2012. These obtained datas were analysed in terms of percentage, frequancy, t-Test, ANOVA and Tukey HSD.According to the findings local tourists paid more importance than the foreign tourist when effects of the political instabilities on the tourists destination choice examined. Besides female tourists paid more importance relatively to the male tourists in the context of political instabilities. Between 18 ? 35 year old participants cares political instabilities less important than the other age groups. When education level goes higher, paid importance to the subject also goes higher. According to the analyses nationality does not effects destination choice process while political instabilies exists. Finally between income and paid imprtance to the political instabilites there is a linear correlation was detected.Key Words: Political, instabilities, tourism, destination, decision making
