Abstract (EN)
With the developing industry, physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and psychosocial risk factors that employees may encounter have also increased. Sound from physical risk factors is the most common source of hazards especially in sectors where human and machine mostly work together. In addition to hearing loss, industrial noise cause physiological disorders, muscle tension, increase in blood pressure, change of heartbeat and blood circulation, acceleration of respiration, disturbances such as circulatory disorders, psychologically; nervousness, fear, discomfort, anxiety, fatigue, and mental effects. Occupational health and safety, occupational accidents due to noise and occupational diseases are experienced and also cause employees to display unsafe behavior.One of the most effective ways to reduce the noise is to organize the reflection by using the sound absorbing feature of materials such as glass wool, stone wool, soft polyurethane based foams in working area. Polyurethane is also a well-known organic binder that is widely used in most of industrial equipment. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of morphologies and the structure of polyurethane-based coatings created by different color pigments, on sound transmission loss properties. To achieve this goal, coatings were created in different concentrations of %5, %7 and %9 with red, orange, yellow and green pigments and the coatings were applied on glass and alüminium surfaces. The sound transmission loss was measured by a set-up containing a microphone and a decibel meter designed in the laboratory area. In addition, surface tension energies, surface roughness, reflectance percentages, absorbance values, permeability percentages, LAB color codes were measured. In the scope of this study, a new method and mathematical model created to help to measure the sound transmission loss on a polyurethane coated surface. In the study, it is aimed to control the noise, which is the physical risk factor, at the source and contribute to the occupational health and safety literature.
