ABSTRACT Tailor made therapy in postmenopausal women, the effect of the treatment modalities on hone mineral dansitometry and lipid profile and patient compliance» The aims of this study are to evaluate the effect of different tailor made therapy protocols used in the postmenopausal period on lipid profile and bone mineral density and to determine patient compliance to treatment regimens. Postmenopausal 250 patients who didn't have menses at least one year are included in this study retrospectively. The patients are evaluated as five groups. Postmenopausal 50 patients who didn't have menses at least one year are included as control group. The treatment groups are consisted of CEE + MPA group receiving CEE + 2.5 mg MPA / daily, transdermal estrogen group receiving 7.8 mg estradiol and raloxifene group receiving raloxifene HC1 60 mg / daily. The postmenapause duration and duration of drug receiving, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels at the beginning of treatment and one year after treatment, BMD values at the beginning of treatment and 2 years after treatment are recorded in all the postmenopausal patients. The statistical analyses of the datas were done by using SPSS 12.0 programme. T test were used in comparing the parameters before the treatment and after the treatment in control group and treatment groups. p< 0.005 values are defined statistically significant. We compared the Total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and Trygliceride levels after one of treatment and BMD values after two years of treatment in control group and treatment groups. Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and Trygliceride levels were found high, where as HDL and BMD levels were found low in the control group. Total cholesterol and Trygliceride levels were decreased, HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels were not changed significantly in the Tibolone treatment group. Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol levels were significantly decreased,HDL cholesterol levels increased but statistically not significant and trygliceride levels were increased significantly in the CEE + MPA treatment group. Total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol levels were not changed, LDL cholesterol levels decreased but statistically not significant, trigliceride levels decreased statistically significant in the transdermal treatment group. Total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol levels decreased and trygliceride levels were not changed in the raloxifene treatment group. There was a statistically significant increase in the BMD values in all the treatment groups. The patient compliance was find high in the group who are taking peroral treatment. Key Words : Bone Mineral Dansitometry, Lipid Profiles, Postmenopause, Tailor Made Therapy vn
