The limitations and possibility of postmodern women publicity: the example of 'blogcu anne' blog

This study was carried out in order to try to understand the probabilities and limitations of the potential of counter-publicness created by women who are squeezed into a private space in societies where patriarchal forms of relationships dominate and to emphasize the visibility of these possibilities through a selected mummy blog. Another aim of the thesis is to observe alternative ways in which women can discover their partnerships as a group through sharing the problems and experiences they face in their daily lives and to express their wishes with their own voices and reach others. In the study, the relationship practice between subaltern women public and its consequences, which is formed by means of new communication technologies, were evaluated through discussions of public space, feminism and postmodernism. In this context, the sample of the thesis consists of the writings and interactions published in the 'Blogcu Anne' blog, a platform where middle-class women who generally have children, are educated and working and also define themselves under the identity of the motherhood, share the inequalities caused by the patriarchal system against women and their experiences and the problems they face in their daily lives. In this sense, it has been attempted to analyze how and in which form and discourse gender-based inequalities refrain women from the public sphere, and also how these inequalities are institutionalized by the contribution of the patriarchal system.
