The ethical thoughts of Michel Foucault in terms of postmodernism

Postmodernism is the most discussed philosophical thought in the contemporary philosophy. İt has a big influence on todays philosophical thought. So, to study on Postmodernism is important for understanding of the developed philosophical thoughts on it. The purpose of the thesis is to discover the contents of Postmodernism on human and ethics. This discovery is dealed with one of the most important philosophers of contemporary philosophy, Michel Foucault. His ethical thoughts are the basic axis of the thesis.In the framework of the conditions of the century brings, the ethical dimension of Postmodernism is studied with the ethical concepts such as values, freedom and responsibility. The ethics is methodical and normative in modern ethic; on the other hand postmodern ethic is raises on totally different arguments.Foucault?s ethical thoughts are constituted in his own peculiar process. He uses archeology to analyze the sexuality, use of pleasure and self-constitution as the methodology. In this context Foucault characterizes the human as a conscious and pleasure object, and as subjectivity form that is formulated by the power relations in the terms of self relation.
