Abstract (EN)

Cancer that is one of the most important recent health problems widely seen in the world, is malignant tumors formed by the abnormal division and proliferation of cells in an organ or tissue. In 2015, it is resulted by 8.8 million deaths. At the present time, almost one of every six deaths is caused by cancer in the world. Potential telomerase inhibitors are planar small molecules that stabilize G-quadruplex structures formed by the folding of telomeric DNA, make the π-π interaction with DNA; are designed as a protonable aromatic nitrogen on the third or fourth ring of the polyaromatic structure or an alkyl chain attached to aromatic structure and after then as a protonable structure. In this thesis, 1-indanone and α-tetralone compounds have been synthesized with the new tetracyclic structured indole derivative and the tetracyclic structured benzo(a)carbazole derivatized key compounds that may be a telomerase inhibitor, by Fischer Indole synthesis. The structures of the synthesized compounds were clarified by fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and proton (1H-NMR) nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy techniques.
