Abstract (EN)
Objective: Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and dysmenorrhea are two of the most common disorders in women of reproductive age, especially among adolescents and adults, which have a negative impact on quality of life. In the light of this information, our aim in this study is to show the effects of premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea on the prevalence and quality of life in the Turkish female population of reproductive age. Material and Method: Our study is a prospective questionnaire study, 500 women between the ages of 18-45 who applied to Gynecology and Obstetrics Polyclinics at Marmara University Pendik Education and Research Hospital were included in the study. After obtaining the consent of the volunteer consent form, demographic information was first obtained from the participants. Body mass indexes, to measure the height and weight of the participants, were calculated. Patients were given dysmenorrhea with a physician and completed premenstrual syndrome evaluation form and short form 36. Results: The average age of women participating in our study is 28.01 ± 6.05 years. The BMI average is 24.99 ± 4.79. PMS prevalence in our study was 70% and dysmenorrhea prevalence was 80%. In your study, the effect of premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea on quality of life subscales was revealed. Conclusion: In our study, we found that the prevalence of premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea in the Turkish female population is common in gynecological conditions in women of reproductive age. However, we did not find a significant relationship between premenual syndrome and dysmenorrhea and quality of life. Keywords: Premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea, quality of life
