Abstract (EN)

Pregnancy; It is one of the important life events for women, in which certain physical, psychological and social changes occur. Prenatal diagnosis is the process of detecting diseases in the fetus or embryo during the prenatal period using various methods. Purpose of prenatal diagnosis; The aim is to detect diseases as early as possible and take necessary action according to the results. However, these test and examination methods used cause psychological stress on the expectant parents, especially the pregnant woman herself. Studies indicate that expectant mothers and fathers feel anxiety about having a baby with malformations. This study was conducted as a descriptive study to examine the anxiety level of pregnant women who requested a prenatal screening test. Data; It was collected using a personal information form and the State and Trait Anxiety Scale. The research was conducted face to face with pregnant women who requested a prenatal screening test, at the gynecology and obstetrics outpatient clinic at Batman Training and Research Hospital. Data was collected in approximately 30 minutes. In the study, as a result of normality analysis, t test was applied for variables with normal distribution, and Mann-Whitney U test, one of the non-parametric methods, was applied for variables that did not show normal distribution. In case of three or more groups, the data were evaluated with Anova and/or Kruskll-Wallis H tests. 0.05 was used as the significance level, and if p>0.05, it was stated that there was no significant difference. The data were analyzed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 25.0 program.
