Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the pyrolysis of pirina obtained as a by-product during olive oil production in a Auger reactor with microwave support. Therefore, the aim of this study is to realize the Auger reactor which provides mass transportation with a worm screw which can be applied to microwave heating which is a new design, as well as to investigate the effects of pyrolysis conditions on product yield and quality in this system. In this study, pyrolysis of pyrina was investigated in a fixed bed pyrolysis system. The effects of biomass flow rate, amount of activated carbon as microwave absorber and microwave power on pyrolysis of pomace were investigated by using experimental design techniques. Experimental studies have shown that liquid and solid products obtained by fixed bed pyrolysis and microwave pyrolysis have similar properties. In microwave pyrolysis, the model equations that link liquid product yield and total gaseous product yield to feed rate, active carbon ratio and microwave power were obtained. Liquid product yield and total gaseous product yield were found to be maximum at low flow rates and high microwave power. It was found that there was a high correlation between the results obtained from the dissolution of the model equation and the validation experiments. The maximum yield was obtained as 32.15% and 63.78% in terms of liquid and total gaseous product yields under 19.7 drive setpoint, 18.66% active carbon content and 94% microwave power conditions.
