Effect of proactive personality and cultural values on entrepreneurship: An application on entrepreneurs working at technoparks in Turkey

The concept of entrepreneurship, which had become more important day by day, has now become the base of economic sand so cio-cultural policies of states. Therefore, the nnumber of technopark sand entrepreneur so perating in these technopark shave increased in recent years in ourcountry. In this study, the effect of proactive personality characteristics which is one of the important individual characteristics for entrepreneurship and the effect of the cultural values of entrepreneurs, on their entrepreneurial characteristics are examined for the entrepreneurs that facilitateat technoparks. According to the question naire results conducted with 191 entrepreneurs who constitue the sample of the study; it was determined that proactive personality characteristic sand its sub-dimensions of which are market and product orientation, employee relations, vision and uncertainty have a positive moderate effect on entrepreneurial characteristics. Moreover, it was found out that among the cultural values, only the masculinity dimension has a low positive effect on entrepreneurial characteristics of the participants. In addition to these findings, it was determined that powerdistance, individual is mand long time orientation values of the entrepreneurs within the sample significantly differ according to their gender, and there sultsare higher for males than females.
