Abstract (EN)
In education, particularly in science, the problems are very important tools for the success of the students based on the new effective techniques. These techniques are based on the problems, the use of computer programs such as Matlab and SPSS are important. In this thesis, the original data will be used on new techniques of secondary education in Turkey. Data regression-correlation, general linear model and cluster analysis methods will be examined. Problem-based learning in secondary education anatolian high schools 9th grade students' academic achievements in math class sets, behaviors, and attitudes related to mathematics, this study aimed to study the effect, the experimental model "pre-test-post-test control group" test was carried out by design. One of the pre-test and post-test control group experimental design with experimental and a control group formed two groups, including the method of randomly assigning the two groups, measurements were made before and after the experiment. In the sample, the first semester of the academic year 2012-2013 Yedikule Anatolian High School, 9-B and 9-C have been selected students who attend classes. The determination of the experimental and control groups, randomly assigning method is adopted. 9-B and 9-C are made lot among classes and 9-C as a result of the draw taken in the control class, the test type 9-B, respectively. 9-B which is experimental group has 29 students; 9-C which is control group has 24 students. The researcher is math teacher of these classes and also guidance counselor of 9-B. Because of lacking of 9 students in 9-B and 4 students in 9-C during achievement pre-test, it was balanced as total 40 students. 20 students in the experimental group problem-based learning, applied to the control group of 20 students from teacher-centered learning. Prior to application, the attitude scale and prepared an achievement test groups were pre-tested. At the end of application, achievement test and attitude scale were applied to groups. As a result, problem-based learning method, the method of traditional teacher-centered learning in secondary education 9th grade students' academic achievement in grade math class sets, behaviors, and attitudes toward mathematics were significantly positive effect.
