Abstract (EN)

The overall objective of this study was to explore the utility of waste plastics as a potential source of diesel fuel. Waste plastics were produced by thermal and catalytic cracking method. The thermal and catalytic cracking reactions were carried out in a pilot cracking reactor equipped with contact thermometer. Waste plastic fuels were blended with diesel fuel at the volumetric ratio of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%. Fuel properties of waste plastics and blends were analyzed by the standards of American Society fir Testing and Materials (ASTM) method. In addition to fuel properties, engine performance and exhaust emission studies of 5% waste plastic fuel-diesel blends were performed.Key Words: Emissions, Fuel Properties, Performance, Thermal and catalytic cracking, WastePlastics,
