Exami̇ni̇ng the anxi̇ety and mental trai̇ni̇ng levels of professi̇onal football players about catchi̇ng coronavi̇rüs

In this study, it was aimed to examine the anxiety and mental training levels of professional football players about catching the new type of corona virus (Covid-19). The study group consists of 40 male athletes playing professional football in France. The Mental Training Inventory in Sports (SZAE) adapted to Turkish by İlhan, (2018) and the New Type Corona Virus Anxiety Scales of Athletes developed by Demir etc., (2020) were adapted to French and used. The collected results were analyzed with the help of the IBM SPSS 22 package program. In the analysis process, descriptive statistics, t-test, correlation and regression analyzes were used. The findings of the study revealed that there is no significant relationship between SZAE scores and SYTKYKO scores, but there is a significant relationship between the SZAE (p=0.001<0.05) scores and SYTKYKO scores (p=0.001<0.05) of the football players who have been infected with Covid-19 before. . When analyzed on the basis of sub-dimensions, it was determined that there was a significant difference when the scores they got from the Individual Anxiety Level and Socialization Anxiety sub-dimension were compared (p=0.007<0.05). It was determined that there was a significant difference for the sub-dimensions of mental basic skills (p=0.019<0.05), mental performance skills (p=0.003<0.05) and interpersonal skills (p=0.020<0.05) for SZAE. As a result, it has been determined that the fact that professional football players have been caught in Covid'19 affects their anxiety about catching the corona virus and their mental training levels.
