Abstract (EN)

Basically, they are the bodies formed by the combination of quartz and feldspar. Profillite is one of the important raw materials that Turkey has. Turkey is in the 5th place among the 10 countries producing profillite in the world. In this study, the usability of the profillite ore, which is extracted from Malatya Pütürge region, instead of quartz in the profile of profillite. This research consists of three parts. In the first part, ceramic clays and the raw materials used in the preparation of mud are given, in the second part, information about the definition of profillite, its properties and usage areas, its situation in Turkey and in the world is given. Experimental studies of the recipes in which profilelite is added instead of quartz, water absorption and bulk shrinkage values at 1200 °C and 1280 °C form the third part. Finally, plastic clay is prepared from the recipe that gives the most suitable results in terms of technical and visual properties, and different sizes of applications and results are given were given by hand and mold shaping method. As a result of the study, it was seen that profillite is suitable for use in the production of plastic clay.
