Abstract (EN)

In our age, where technology contributes to real-life needs, it is crucial to transform 21st century learning skills into individual gains. The aim of this research is to examine the researches published in various journals on programming teaching between 2009 and 2019; to show how programming education has developed in the last decade and to guide future studies in this field. 94 articles determined for this purpose; demographic characteristics and research dimensions. In this study, where national and international publications on programming education and published in different indexes were examined, the data were obtained by using content analysis method. According to the findings, studies on programming education have been increasing in recent years. It has been seen that quantitative researches related to this field have been examined and referenced more, compilation and mixed methods are less preferred in the literature. Most of the keywords were used in quantitative research methods. In quantitative research, data collection tools were used more than other methods and it was noted that most of them were composed of scale / questionnaire. Visual / block coding applications were mostly encountered in the studies. It was also revealed that the research aims were focused on the determination of student situations for programming education. As a result, it has been noted that interest in programming education has increased over the years and especially quantitative studies have been focused on. It was suggested that new technologies should be integrated into the programming education and the research areas should focus on the missing parts.
