Project planning and programming technics; An application in construction sector

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to focus on Project management, Project scheduling anduse of Project planning and programming methods in engineering projects, to find thesimilarities in different planning and programming software and to assess the output of thesemethods and software.Constraction sector is one of the leading industries in Turkey. Housing shortage,infrastructure requirements and ever-increasing population of our country keeps this sectorcontinuously on the agenda. In this context, Project planning and programming techniquesgain importance from the standpoint of comletion of costraction Works economically and assoon as suitable.Project cost and duration factors are examined by considering detailed data about theProject. There is also detailed data of the costraction Project. CPM ( Critical path method )and PERT ( Program Evaluation and Review Technique) are commonly used planningmetods. These metods are considered and the constraction programming calculations aremade with these methods.Whether the Project size is too big or small, planning, programming and control cyclecontinues on the Project duration, from the first day to end. Computer software helps os inthese projects to make online changes. Entire Project can be examined online bymanagers.Considering all of these aspects, Project management, Project planning andprogramming methods can be more helpful and done more affectively by using appropriateplanning software.
