Abstract (EN)
In this research, the effect of management and monitoring information systems in project-based learning on student achievement and attitudes was investigated. The research is an experimental study and an experimental design having pretest and posttest control group was used in the research. Totally 99 students participated in the research in equivalent groups of experiment-1 (n = 33), experiment-2 (n = 33) and control (n = 33) groups. In all groups, the project-based learning approach was used as the method. The group of experiment-1, the group of experiment-2 and the control group carried out their studies in the environment of management and monitoring information system, in the environment of both management and monitoring information system and traditional environment and in traditional environment, respectively. In the research, the achievement test and attitude scale were used as data collection tool. To test hypotheses of the research, the quantitative data obtained by data collection tools were evaluated by using t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) for dependent and independent groups included in SPSS statistics program. As a result of the analysis done, it was observed that there is no significant difference among the groups of experiment-1, experiment-2, and control groups in achievement pretests. In achievement posttests, it turned out that there is a significant difference among three groups. In the comparison done between pair groups, a significant difference was determined between experiment-2 and control group in favor of the experiment-2 group. It was determined that management and monitoring information systems have an effect on increasing the achievement of experiment-2 group but they do not have any effect on experiment-1 group. In attitude scales applied to experiment groups of 1 and 2, the groups showed positive attitudes. In terms of attitude scale scores, a significant difference was determined in favor of experiment-2 group. The research showed that management and monitoring information systems alone in project-based learning do not have any effect on student?s achievement and attitudes, and they have positive effects when used together with traditional environment.
