Abstract (EN)

eTwinning projects are considered as a project-based teaching practice that has been implemented in Europe since 2005 and in Turkey since 2009. Teachers and students carry out projects in different fields and share on the Twinspace portal. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of project-based teaching on the distance education process. The effects of the studying eTwinning projects, a project-based teaching method, before and during the online distance education, which is mandatory during the pandemic period, were examined. The research is a qualitative descriptive research. The study group determined by the criterion sampling method, one of the purposive sampling methods, consists of 32 teachers working in different branches of secondary education in Gaziantep in the 2020-2021 Academic Year, who have implemented at least two eTwinning projects and have received at least one European Quality Label Certificate. Research data were collected through a semi-structured interview form. Interview questions were prepared by the researcher and were formed by taking expert opinions. The data were analyzed by content analysis method. According to the research findings, the effect of project-based teaching on the distance education process was examined. In line with the study findings, it has been seen that eTwinning projects, which are project-based teaching methods, contribute to teachers in the professional field, lesson planning and course content creation, in the measurement and evaluation stages in the distance education process.
